Characteristics

This is a pure Pinot Nero. The first Pinot Nero vines were planted in the localities Rungg and Cornaiano in 1995, at an altitude of 500 m. Here, on a sunny and well-ventilated plateau, the Burgundy plants have found an ideal glacial moraine soil of medium consistency. Hartmann is particularly fond of viticulture based on a harmony between the earth, plants, animals, human beings and the cosmos, and the biodynamical cultivation of his vineyard is the direct consequence. In this healthy, live and biologically active soil, resistant vines grow that give concentrated and savoury grapes. These grapes are characterized by the soil and their environment and by the custodians who accompany the vineyard in its evolution.

With an attentive and delicate vinification of the grapes Hartmann maintains the extraordinary and delicate quality of his Pinot Nero. The natural yeasts ferment the Pinot Nero must for 3-4 weeks in wooden vats in a natural and tranquil manner. No filtering, 22 months in wooden casks and 20 months bottling aging give Hartmann’s Pinot Nero the possibility and the time to develop its particular character.

Donà Noir has a concentrated and deep aromatic profile. The taste is structured, warm and spicy, with its very personal harmony.
