Characteristics

This is by far Natalino's most important red, and one of his most special wines. Solleone translates as 'big sun', and is the name of this single vineyard that sits on top of a hill 350 meters above sea level, and basks all day in the adriatic sun. This is the last vineyard to be picked at Fattoria San Lorenzo, and the bunches are hand selected and sorted, and then once gently destemmed are macerated by hand and foot in large open bins. The wine is then aged almost 3 years (depending on vintage) in used wood, before it's 1+ years of bottle aging. Natalino may be known for his incredible work and expression of Verdicchio, but he clearly has an incredible way with Montepulciano as well. A hidden beauty of the portfolio!
