Characteristics

Vigna La Gattara is a Rosso Conero, which is a DOCG (upgraded from it's original 1967 DOC status in 2004) named after the famous Mount Conero. Conero is the most important cape in the Adriatic with the highest seaside cliffs at 500m. The history of the DOCG Conero dates back to documents from the Benedictine monks that talk about the 'healing' properties of the wine produced form the grapes of Conero. The DOCG states that the wine can be produced with UP TO 85% of Montepulciano, and the rest must be Sangiovese.
